It’s not the engineering or technological achievement. It’s not the achievement for one nation, or one space program.
It’s that last night, all across the world, millions of HUMANS of every skin color, belief, value, gender, morals, and religion were shouting, crying, cheering, and celebrating a single collective event, united. We had landed a machine on another planet.
For fifteen minutes last night. We were Humanity.
It was absolutely thrilling to be part of this moment in history.
